It is finally the day before Padmavati’s initial release date, December 1, 2017. The film has been postponed indefinitely, thanks to the ever increasing furor against it and the lack of action – from various fronts – to bring the situation under control. As of now, there is no news about when the period drama starring Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh. Fans are disappointed, more so when the year in Bollywood so far has been so below expectations. All hopes to help the Hindi film industry redeem itself were pined on Padmavati and Tiger Zinda Hai later this year. Also Read - Deepika Padukone Crashes In Hubby Ranveer Singh's Chat With Fans, Asks 'When are you coming home?'

We hear that actor-MPs Paresh Rawal and Raj Babbar will also be on the panel which will probably take a decision on how to put all the doubts raised by the various Rajput groups and political leaders against the film’s content and accused Bhansali of distorting history.
While various historians claim that Rani Padmini didn’t exist for real and was only a legend in the 1540 poem ‘Padmavat’ by Malik Muhammad Jaysi, the Rajput groups are firm on their stand that the queen was real.
