Ranbir Kapoor is all set to take us through the controversial life of Bollywood actor, Sanjay Dutt in his upcoming biopic titled Sanju, helmed by filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani. If the teaser released last week is anything to go by, then we ought to say that Kapoor is doing a darn good job at it. Rajkumar Hirani had made a promise that he would share a new poster of the Sanjay Dutt biopic on Monday morning and he lived up to it. Earlier today, he shared the poster that has Ranbir look every bit as the Khalnayak actor when he completed his prison sentence and walked out of Pune’s Yerwada Jail in 2016. The Supreme Court had sentenced Dutt to 5 years’ imprisonment for illegal possession of weapons after the 1991 bloody Mumbai bomb blasts that killed not less than 257 people. Hirani shared the poster and tweeted, “Ranbir as #Sanju! When he came out of Jail in 2016. Watch his complete story on June 29. #RanbirKapoor #RajkumarHiraniFilms @VVCFilms @foxstarhindi.” Take a look at the poster below : Also Read - Anushka Sharma-Virat Kohli Send Special Gifts to Paparazzi Requesting Them to Not Click Their Daughter
Ranbir has gone on record to say that he loved playing Dutt in the film, especially as Munnabhai. He added that the most difficult part for him was to play the young Sanju as there were faces to show and more emotions to portray given the disturbing drug phase and the loss of his mother, Nargis. Ranbir’s uncanny resemblance and dedication to play the character is very well visible in the posters and teaser unveiled so far. We cannot wait to watch the trailer and the film that releases on June 29. The film also stars, Anushka Sharma, Paresh Rawal, Sonam Kapoor, Dia Mirza, Karishma Tanna, Manisha Koirala, Jim Sarbh, Vicky Kaushal and Boman Irani in pivotal roles.
