Rajkumar Hirani’s Sanju – a biopic on Sanjay Dutt starring Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor is one of the most awaited films of 2018. However, after seeing some leaked images of RK from the sets of the film, where he looked like a spitting image of Dutt, we have been left waiting for more. There has been no first look poster or teaser and it was not yet confirmed what the biopic will be titled. However, we now have some clarity as director Hirani himself has spilled the beans. However, Hirani, who is currently wrapping up the post production work on the film, confirmed that the Sanju teaser will not release during the IPL match, but release in the morning of April 24. It will then be screening during the match as well later in the day. While at an event, Hirani said: “It is not a correct news that it is going to be released during the Indian Premier League (IPL) match. As far as I understand, we are launching the teaser before that. It will be in the morning of April 24. Barring Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Ranbir has seen a slew of dismally performing films like Bombay Velvet, Tamasha and the more recent Jagga Jasoos. Will starring in Hirani’s Sanju give his career the much needed boost? When quizzed about the same, the filmmaker said, “He was always a Superstar. He never went away. Sanju is set for a June 29 release date and is produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra. It promises to tell the real story of the life of Sanjay Dutt – one of the most talented, successful yet controversial actors of our times. The full-fledged trailer will reportedly be attached to Avengers: Infinity War that releases on April 27.
