Sardar 2 Stuntman Dies After Accidentally Falling From 20 Feet on Karthi’s Set

Stuntman Elumalai met a fatal accident on the sets of 'Sardar 2' – a film where Karthi acts under the able direction of PS Mithran. According to news, a dramatic action scene cost him his life when he unfortunately plunged 20 feet off a platform.

During the filming of Sardar 2, a terrible accident unfolded on set, involving the stuntman, Elumalai. Elumalai, aged 54, encountered a risky fall from a height of 20 feet while performing an action scene under the direction of PS Mithran. Immediately, the emergency services were alerted and Elumalai was rushed to the hospital. Regrettably, despite the swift medical attention provided, he succumbed to internal bleeding and breathed his last at around 11:30 in the evening. The heartbreaking event at LV Prasad Studios in Saligramam, Chennai has prompted a pause in the production of Sardar 2.

Prince Pictures, the makers of the film Sardar 2, is deeply saddened by the unfortunate demise of Mr. Elumalai, a cherished member of the Stunt Union. The production house added, “We regret to report the death of Mr Elumalai, a member of the Stunt Union who worked as a stunt rig man on the sets of our film Sardar 2. On Tuesday evening July 16, after the stunt sequences were filmed, as we were wrapping up shooting for the day, Mr Elumalai accidentally fell from a rostrum of 20 feet high and sustained injuries. He was rushed to the neraby multi speciality hospital where he was treated by the team of doctors. However, at around 11.30 pm on July 16, 2024, despite the intensive medical treatment, Mr Elumalai unfortunately passed away. Our entire team extend our sincerest condolences to Mr Elumalai’s family and we stand with them in this time of grief (sic).”
