Aamir Khan and Zaira Wasim starrer Secret Superstar released hit the big screens on Diwali and yet managed to only rake in about Rs 4.50 to Rs 4.75 crore net in the domestic market on Day 1. Though it had a low opening and had an occupancy of 15-20% range, which is too low for a Diwali release, the film has seen a remarkable growth in its box office collection on the second day of its release. On Friday, Aamir’s Secret Superstar has earned Rs 9.30 crore; it’s double the collection that was on day one. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to write, “More #SecretSuperstar biz almost doubles on Fri… REMARKABLE GROWTH… Thu 4.80 cr, Fri 9.30 cr. Total: ₹ 14.10 cr. India biz”
Secret Superstar revolves around the life of a teenage girl, who aspires to be a singer, but unlike us, she does not have the freedom to desire or aspire; she comes from a family where they do not allow her to even dream in her dreams. This teenager not only strives hard to pursue her dreams but also save her mother from her alcoholic father. Just like Aamir’s Dangal, even Secret Superstar speaks of ‘Women Empowerment’. I am sure, the film will do really well at the box office in the coming days. ALSO READ: (Hiten Tejwani Knows What He Is Doing And I am Not Bothered About It, Says Gauri Pradhan Tejwani)

The audience has shown praise for the movie and especially they are stunned with the Dangal actress Zaira Wasim’s acting prowess; she overshadowed Aamir Khan in the film. Even Shubhra Gupta (Indian Express critic ) was all praises for the 16-year-old. She, in her review, wrote, “We are left with young Insiya and her shining face, and a beacon of hope for herself and girls in similar difficult situations. I liked her enormously, and Wasim plays her with great brio, a mix of sparkle and tentativeness.” Again when we have Aamir attached to the movie, we know for sure that the movie is going to be good.
