While media has been sensationalising the death of Bollywood superstar Sridevi, making it into a public circus, here’s what everybody needs to read at this hour. Shah Rukh Khan, hours after the actress was cremated with state honours in Mumbai, took to Twitter to share an emotional letter. The actor, who attended Sridevi’s funeral rites, tweeted late last night, “How can one not just feel love & beauty & be grateful for a life that became a part of yours in some small way by making it prettier….isn’t it just easier to feel love & give towards that life, even in death…the comfort of appreciation and gratitude.” This is what we really needed to read Shah Rukh and I don’t think there’s any other better way I could see that one could have put this message across. Our first female superstar, Sridevi, passed away in Dubai on February 24, 2018, reportedly due to accidental drowning in her hotel bathtub after losing consciousness. The actress has been laid to rest yesterday (February 28). We are still not able to come to terms with this loss. While we are unable to comprehend this loss and the fact that we will no longer be able to see the gorgeous diva on screen, it’s unimaginable to think what the late actress’ family must be going through at this hour of grief. After Sridevi’s family issued a statement, Sridevi’s husband Boney Kapoor too took to Twitter to share one last post from his wife’s Twitter handle. “Losing a friend, wife and mother of your two daughters is a loss inexplicable in words… I am blessed to have the support and love of Arjun and Anshula, who have been such pillars of strength for myself, Khushi and Janhvi. Together, as a family we have tried to face this unbearable loss,” read an excerpt from Boney Kapoor’s letter.
