It is very difficult to imitate Guru Dutt! The master himself with his brooding expressions is really hard to replicate. The frown, the frustration and those eyes void of jubilant expressions is very hard to portray especially on celluloid. So when Shah Rukh Khan expressed a wish to play the master himself we could not help but stretch our eyebrow with disbelief.

We just fear that Shah Rukh should not turn the character of the master storyteller into Devdas. Guru Dutt held this intense pain and anguish in heart throughout his life. And we certainly don’t want to see an over the top Devdas passed off as Guru Dutt! The though itself has given us creeps. Remember how beautifully Aamir Khan had posed as Guru Dutt for a beautiful Coffee table book! The Shorty dude gave us a glimpse of the handsome man that Guru Dutt was through these pictures. Katrina Kaif had psoed alongside Mr Perfectionist as the graceful Waheeda Rehman. All in all, we feel Aamir Khan has acting skills but Shah Rukh has the much-needed brooding look and those intense eyes ! Honestly, Aamir has it in him to play thete master director but in his zest to get every detail, he might both the endeavour, we fear!
