One movie that includes in the list is Shah Rukh Khan-starrer featuring two leading actresses and a cameo of superstar. This film was made under a massive budget yet failed to recover its cost at the box office. We are talking about this VFX-heavy film Zero.
Made on a high budget of Rs 200 crore, Zero received mixed to negative reviews from critics and audiences. Released in 2017, the film earned just Rs 97.60 crore net in India and grossed Rs 178 crore worldwide, as per the entertainment tracking portal Sacnilk.com. Salman Khan also had a cameo in this comedy drama, that was written by Himanshu Sharma and produced by Colour Yellow Productions and Red Chili Entertainment.

Later, he falls for a glamorous actress (Katrina Kaif) who rejects him. Realising his mistake, he decides to return to Aafia, and the two eventually reunite.
Shah Rukh Khan opened up about Zero’s failure at the screening in Beijing International Film Festival (2019) “Unfortunately, Zero itself wasn’t received too well back home in India. Maybe I made the wrong film, maybe I did not do the right storytelling so I am a little wary how it will be received here and I hope people here will like it. When it went wrong, I felt bad. That it got rejected by so many people, when you make a film like that for three years and it goes wrong, you get not depressed or anything but I didn’t want to see it. I am going to see it after three months. Maybe I will be able to figure out when I am away what went wrong with it.” the actor said.
Since the release of Zero in December 2018, Anushka Sharma has not appeared in any Bollywood film except her brief cameo in 2022 movie Qala, produced by her brother Karnesh Sharma.
