Shahid KapoorShraddha Kapoor starrer Batti Gul Meter Chalu is one of the much-awaited movies of 2018. Written by Vipul K Rawal and helmed by Shree Narayan Singh, (who helmed the Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar starrer Toilet: Ek Prem Katha) Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor starrer is slated to hit the silver screen on August 31, 2018. Recently, there were reports doing the rounds that the film had been stalled owing to Shahid Kapoor’s ill-health and so, the film might get delayed. However, the latest reports suggest that the actors have wrapped up the second schedule of the film in Dehradun and also the film’s shooting is nearly completed. In a statement to Bollywood Life, Producer Prernaa Arora (KriArj Entertainment) confirmed the news, when she said, “Batti Gul Meter Chalu is shaping up wonderfully and we can’t wait to present the film to audiences. The last schedule will be shot in Mumbai in the month of April.” A source close to the project too confirmed it and told the website, “Only a few scenes are pending and they will be shot in Mumbai during the month of April. Speaking of Shahid completing the shoot at a lightning speed, the source told the portal, “Despite it being set in small town, the team is packing up early every day because Shahid comes and gives clean shots,” adding that, “The speed at which Shree and Shahid are working, the film is expected to be wrapped up by March-end or first week of April, at the maximum.” ALSO READ: Mira Rajput Threw Husband Shahid Kapoor Out Of Their House?

Shahid and Shraddha will be sharing the screen space after 3 years; they were first seen together in Vishal Bhardwaj’s ‘Haider’, which was a desi adaptation of Shakespeare’s play ‘Hamlet’.
