A lot of people could actually relate to my character. As the story progresses, she takes a completely different avatar. She becomes this strong confident girl. She knows how to use her sexuality to get what she wants. She almost uses her sexuality as a weapon. I mean she is the woman of today. My character has several shades and it is unpredictable. It was challenging for me to play as it is very rough around the edges. This is something I have never done before.” Well, Shamita opens up in conversation with Excerpts from the interview. Well, if I was given a choice, I would not take that break because obviously acting is something I really love doing. I think, I realised how much I missed once I started working on Yo Ke Hua Bro.”

Why did you agree to be a part of Yo Ke Hua Bro?

For starters, I think the web is the way to go now. We’re, honestly, living in a digital age and everyone today watches web series ya. It’s like the new in-thing. Yo Ke Hua Bro is something that I’ve not done before. It has various shades and it seems like a really fun project.

Did you have to unlearn certain things while working on the web series?

Honestly, I think, I’ve unlearnt everything because of my long break.

What is the one thing you enjoyed the most while working on a web series?

I think, for me, this entire experience was such a fun one because of the people that I worked with. They are very unique. With the entire cast and crew, I kind of ended up sharing a very good rapport. We were so comfortable with each other. I have made good friends here. This has been a wonderful experience.

Afte Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, have you thought of doing other TV shows?

“Well, I had not really thought of anything. For me, I just go with the flow. I got into films when I was doing my fashion designer internship. I thought I was going to be a fashion designer, but then I got into films. From films, I got into Bigg Boss (reality show), which I never thought I would do it. From there, I did interiors (interior designing), then got back into reality television (dance reality show – Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa), again something I never thought I would do and now a digital platform. If something good is offered to me, be it whatever platform, if I am convinced, I will do it.”

If you have to return to films, what kind of films will interest you?

I don’t know. I haven’t experimented too much. I still have to discover my weaknesses, strengths and that is something that will come in with more work I do.

You had said you are happy single but if you had to date someone what are the three qualities you are looking for?

I think someone who could make me laugh. Again, I don’t have this check list. I don’t have this list of points that I am looking for. Someone who is honest but it is not something you don’t come across easily these days. Someone with whom I could connect. Today, I feel, people don’t really value relationships, the way they used to, it kind of worries me. When I am in a relationship, I invest so much of time. I need to be sure. I don’t want to do it because Oh! I am single, I have to be with someone now or I have to get married now because I am a certain age. For me, when it’s the right time, whoever has to come into my life, let him come into my life, I will spend the rest of my life with that person.
