It’s been nearly two decades since JP Dutta‘s multi-starrer film, Border, released and it was during the 20th anniversary of the iconic film that the filmmaker announced that he was going to collaborate with Abhishek Bachchan yet again for a war movie titled Paltan. The duo has worked together in many movies in the past such as his debut film, Refugee, LOC Kargil and Umrao Jaan. Also Read - "Begum Gayiin"! Farrukh Jaffar of Gulabo Sitabo Fame Passes Away at 88

Abhishek has been away from films for quite sometime now. His last movie was Housefull 3 in 2016. So, needless to say he was quite excited for it. He even took to Twitter to introduce Paltan. He had tweeted, “Brother to my left, brother to my right. Together we stand. Together we fight! I’m part of the PALTAN, are you? #jpdutta #JaiHind.” In a statement about the film, Dutta had said, “It’s time to tell a new story, to tell another part of the history of our country and salute more real-life heroes! I present Paltan. A film and a subject very close to my heart and I’m extremely excited about it.” Paltan stars Suniel Shetty, Arjun Rampal, Sonu Sood, Pulkit Samrat, Siddhanth Kapoor, Gurmeet Chaudhary, Jimmy Sheirgill, Jackie Shroff and Luv Sinha. Paltan is based on the 1962 Indo-China war. And now what comes as a huge shock to us, the film’s official spokesperson has put out a statement saying that Abhishek will no longer be a part of the movie. The makers have already started shooting the film in Ladakh and news of his sudden departure has come as a last minute shock to the entire cast and crew of Paltan. When Nidhi Dutta, daughter of JP Dutta was approached for her reaction on this, she expressed her disappointment and shock by saying, “Abhishek Bachchan is no longer part of Paltan for personal reasons best known to him. It has come as a shock to us as this happened less than 24 hours before our unit left to shoot in Ladakh. But we also believe that; especially in the movies we make, it’s the soldiers sitting up there that choose who will play them and recreate their lives on screen. Nevertheless, we wish him luck in his future endeavours. We are already in Ladakh filming with our entire cast and crew and Army personnel. We will announce the actor who is replacing Abhishek in the film soon.” Also Read - Sonu Sood Takes The Internet By Surprise With His Human Flag Pose | Watch
