A lot happened last week in Bollywood and the week was exciting. Akshay Kumar’s Rustom and Hrithik Roshan’s Mohenjo Daro continued to make news with their hit or miss box office news. And every other person was game to take up the Beat Pe Booty challenge of A Flying Jatt. But B’town was more enthralled by Rio Olympics 2016 than anything else! Salman Khan’s generosity for Rio Olympics 2016 atheletes from India
After Sultan producers Yash Raj Films announced a cash prize of Rs 10 lakh for every gold medal winner from India at the Rio Olympics 2016, the movie’s actor Salman Khan announced his own prize – Rs 1,01,000 for each Indian participant at the Rio Games 2016! This was not unexpected, as Salman Khan is the Goodwill Ambassador for the Rio Olympics 2016 in India. Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar even tweeted a picture with PV Sindhu after she won a silver in badminton at the Rio Olympics 2016. He may just pay more to the medal winners! B’towners support Indian girls at Rio Olympics 2016
Shuttler PV Sindhu and wrestler Sakshi Malik as also golfer Aditi Ashok both got a lot of encouragement and praise from big movie stars and directors such as Salman Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar, Anushka Sharma, Priyanka Chopra, Sonakshi Sinha and Karan Johar, to name a few, after their silver and bronze medal win at the Rio Olympics 2016. They also got support from cricket and tennis icons like Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Suresh Raina and Mahesh Bhupathi, among others. Read story here.
Shah Rukh Khan and Ranveer Singh in Dhoom 4?
Just as there were rumours that Aamir Khan may be making an appearance in Yash Raj Films’ Thug starring Amitabh Bachchan, there was news that Shah Rukh Khan and Ranveer Singh will star in Dhoom 4 – the fourth film of YRF’s Dhoom franchise. Earlier, Thug itself was touted to be Dhoom 4, but now it seems the two are totally different films altogether. Read full story here.
Rustom beats Mohenjo Daro at the box office!
Akshay Kumar’s real story Rustom beat Hrithik Roshan’s fiction film Mohenjo Daro at the box office, with Rustom making over Rs 150 crore overseas. As we talk, Rustom will complete Rs 100 crore collections at the India box office in a week’s time, while Mohenjo Daro will do a little more of the Rs 50 crore plus it has managed. Eventually, both movies will complete Rs 100 crore, but Rustom would’ve made more money since it was made a lower budget than Mohenjo Daro. Simple math! Read more here.

The Sachin-Jigar song from A Flying Jatt starring Jacqueline Fernandez and Tiger Shroff is a rage and many celebrities like Hrithik Roshan, Sunny Leone, Varun Dhawan, Ekta Kapoor, Divyanka Tripathi, Vivek Dahiya, Mouni Roy and Sanjeeda Sheikh took up the Beat Pe Booty Challenge. Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 9 contestants Poonam Shah and Priyanka Shah, the dancing sisters, were evicted last night on the show. Poonam Shah was the contestant while her sister Priyanka Shah was the choreographer in this jodi on Jhalak 9. Poonam Shah was pitted against Helly Shah and Shakti Arora in the evictions.
