Much to the dismay of the fringe group, Shri Rajput Karni Sena, Sanjay Leela Bhansali‘s Padmaavat featuring Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh hit screens yesterday. The film has been garnering rave reviews from all corners. Trade analysts have predicted that during the paid previews itself the film has earned Rs 4-5 crores, albeit adding that its ban in four states will impact the overall business of the film at the Box Office. As if banning the film wasn’t enough, the Karni Sena has been stooping to a new low everyday. Recently, the fringe group pelted a bus carrying children to school in Gurugram. And now, it has announced that it will produce a film on the filmmaker’s mother, which will reportedly be titled as Leela ki Leela.
The Karni Sena held a press conference in Chittorgarh, Rajasthan to make this announcement. Govind Singh Khangarot, the district president of Karni Sena, declared that the film would be directed by Arvind Vyas and that the script writing process was already underway. As per reports, a “Muhurat” marking the commencement of the film would be performed in the next 15 days. The film will reportedly be made within a year’s time and will be shot across Rajasthan. Speaking at the conference, Khangarot said, “Bhansali has insulted our mother Padmavati, but we will ensure that he feels proud of the movie we will make,” he added. “As our country gives right to expression to everyone, we will ensure that this right is used to its fullest,” he added. It is sad to see how the issue has been taken out of context. The Rajputs are known for their pride and valour but have always fought for the truth and what’s right. It’s deplorable to see the clan take the pride of their forefathers out of context and wage a war against what’s right instead of standing by it.
