Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan box office collection day 10: Ayushmann Khurrana-Jitendra Kumar starrer remains healthy, collects a total of Rs 54.23 crore

Entering the half-century club at the box office, Hitesh Kewalya-directorial Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan, starring actors Ayushmann Khurrana and Jitendra Kumar in the lead, continues to remain healthy. Facing no major opposition at the ticket windows, the family entertainer collected a total of Rs 54.23 crore by the tenth day of its release.

Sharing the healthy numbers on his social media handle, Indian film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh revealed, “#ShubhMangalZyadaSaavdhan posts healthy numbers on [second] Sat and Sun… #Delhi, #NCR continue to contribute… Lack of major opposition [new release] helped, to an extent… [Week 2] Fri 2.08 cr, Sat 3.25 cr, Sun 4.06 cr. Actor Ayushmann Khurrana is probably the first mainstream actor to have portrayed an out-and-out gay character in Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan. However, the actor says that the decision of taking up this character wasn’t easy. Ayushmann, in his latest interview with a daily, revealed that he was discouraged to sign the film because no leading man from the industry has ever portrayed a serious homosexual character on-screen. The actor, who’s known for being a part of the films that initiate a dialogue about social change, said he was adamant about breaking this stereotype and putting forth the issues faced by the LGBTQ community in India.

Starring actors Ayushmann Khurrana, Gajraj Rao, Neena Gupta, Manurishi Chaddha, Jitu K, Sunita Rajwar, Maanvi Gagroo, Pankhuri Awasthy and Neeraj Singh, the film is written and directed by Hitesh Kewalya and bankrolled by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Aanand L Rai and Himanshu Sharma. It features Jitendra as Ayushmann’s on-screen love interest.
