Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan Box Office Day 8: After collecting Rs 44.84 crore in its first week, actor Ayushmann Khurrana starrer Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan earned Rs 3.08 crore on its eighth day at the Box Office. The total collection of the film now stands at Rs 46.92 crore. Directed by Hitesh Kewalya, Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan comments on taboos around homosexuality in India and how middle-class families struggle to normalise same-sex relationships.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh released the latest Box Office figures of Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan on Twitter and wrote, “#ShubhMangalZyadaSaavdhan maintains decent hold on Day 8… [Week 2] Fri 2.08 cr. Total: ₹ 46.92 cr. #India biz. #SMZS” (sic)

The film that features actor Jitendra Kumar, in the lead opposite Ayushmann as his love interest, was received well by both the audience and the critics. With talented performances of veterans Neena Gupta and Gajrao Rao, Shubh Mangal… fell at par with all the expectations the audience had from it. The film’s performance at the Box Office is more or less steady in the weekdays. Now, with the release of Thappad, the performance is expected to face a dip at the ticket window. This is because the Tapsee Pannu starrer has received good response from both the critics and the audience. The film has got good word-of-mouth on social media that can add up to its mollah in great numbers at the Box Office. Thappad collected Rs 3.07 crore on its opening day.
