2017 is on the verge of saying goodbye and all the Bollywood fanatics are super excited about the upcoming list of films. Films like Padmavati, Raazi, Veere Di Wedding, Thugs of Hindostan are making the fans count days on fingers. This year we also saw successful instalments of popular franchises making money at the box office. Films like Ajay Devgn’s Golmaal Again, Pulkit Samrat’s Fukrey Returns, Salman Khan’s Tiger Zinda Hai, Baahubali 2 hit the bullseye with the same cast and but new plotline. However, there was one common factor in these films- the same cast. The makers made it a point to reunite the same family of actors and give the audience a treat of nostalgia plus newness. Race 3: We saw two popular instalments of Abbas Mustan’s Race with Saif Ali Khan in the lead. However, the third one has Salman Khan and an entirely different cast including Daisy Shah, Jacqueline Fernandez, Bobby Deol. Namaste England: Remember the sweet love story of Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif, Namaste London? The Namaste franchise makers are back with the sequel sans these two stars. Akki and Kat will be replaced by Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra in the lead and the film will have the backdrop of England. Sinng Is Kinng: Well, Akshay Kumar won the heart as a desi, hilarious and helpful King aka ‘Happy’ in this light-hearted film. However, in the sequel, the new Happy is offered to Ranveer Singh. Ranveer has the same zeal and energy so we can hope that he might fit in into the shoes.
Student Of The Year 2: The debut film of Alia Bhatt- Sidharth Malhotra- Varun Dhawan ie, Student of The Year, is back with the sequel SOTY 2, this time with another cast. The sequel will have Tiger Shroff and Ananya Pandey in the lead.
Aashiqui 3: Just like two previous instalments, the third one too is about a new couple. After the hit love stories of Anu Aggarwal- Rahul Roy and Aditya Roy Kapur- Shraddha Kapoor, the next one has rumoured lovebirds Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra in the lead.
Well, now we have five of the most awaited sequels with the brand new cast and we don’t know whether to be happy or sad for that.
