Sidharth Malhotra is all set to play an Army officer in his upcoming film, Aiyaary, which is slated to release on February 9. This is the first time that the actor will be seen essaying a role like this and fans are excited to say the least. However, with the makers of Padman pushing their film’s release to February 9, the actor is not too happy and feels that the clash could have been easily avoided. Helpless with the situation, he feels it’s too late to do anything, except hope for the best. Speaking to IANS about the same Sidharth said, “Yes, it irritates, but now it’s too late. What can we do now? Look, we announced the date first. When ‘Pad Man’ makers unveiled their release date, we were gracious enough to shift our release date to avoid the clash. ” Also Read - Sameer Sharma Suicide: Sidharth Malhotra And Other Celebs Mourn The Death of Hasee Toh Phasee Actor

Furthermore, he added, “This situation could have resolved earlier, people could have stuck to their dates, respecting others’ space. I was not expecting the makers of ‘Pad Man’ to release their film with us, especially the second time. We thought we will get a solo release.Eventually the fate of the film will speak for itself. We are confident about our film, it has its audience. Now that we cannot change anything, we can hope for the best.” Well, it’s indeed quite surprising to hear Sidharth, who is known to be soft spoken and as someone who has high regards for Akshay Kumar, to give this kind of reaction. A newbie like him, would choose to be diplomatic about this, but his candid response to the issue has definitely left us startled. For the uninitiated, Aiyaary was to earlier release on January 25 to make the most of the long Republic Day weekend. Back then as well, it was to release with Padman. However, with Padmaavat getting its final release date of January 25, Aiyaary shifted its release date to February 9 for a solo release. However, with Akshay Kumar, pushing the release date of his film to Feb 9, as a move in support of Sanjay Leela Bhansali and to let “Padmaavat” get a solo release, the situation has gone back to square one, with both the films clashing on the same date. It would now be interesting to see how the two films perform at the Box Office. Which film, according to you, will fare better? Leave your comments’ in the section below.
