Actor Sidharth Shukla won the Bigg Boss 13 trophy after spending gruelling four months inside the house. In her Women’s Day special interview today, he talked about the toughest part of living inside that house. For Sidharth, the big deal was not to live with strange people under one roof or facing those with whom he had shared a bitter past. The problem was that he never thought he was prepared to stay away from his mother who has been his rock-solid support throughout.
Sidharth opened up on his equation with his mother Rita Shukla and how she single-handedly managed everything and raised her three kids after the death of his father. The Bigg Boss 13 winner talked about being a mamma’s boy even at 39 and how he doesn’t fear anyone judging him for accepting this. In his heartfelt interview to Humans of Bombay, Sidharth mentioned that he had lost his father 15 years ago and while everyone felt like the ‘umbrella’ over their head was taken away, his mother ensured that no one in the family was devoid of their wishes and desires.
The actor revealed that his mother worked hard to make him and his two sisters become independent and fulfilled all their wishes without making them realise that she was all alone in this journey. Sidharth said, “When dad passed away 15 years ago, it felt like the umbrella over us had been taken away. But my mom was our rock–she never showed any signs of vulnerability. Despite our poor finances, she ran the house, looked after 3 kids & fulfilled all our demands! I know now that she must’ve had to sacrifice so much to give us what we wanted.”
Sidharth’s bonding with his mother was visible during his stay inside the Bigg Boss house. The first thing Rita Shukla told his son the moment she stepped inside the house was to get rid of his shorts. She asked him to stay properly dressed up all the time and Sidharth took that piece of advice in a heartbeat. In his interview now, he mentioned that his mother is his best friend today. He revealed that receiving a letter from her during his stay in Bigg Boss was the best moment of the show. Sidharth said he read that letter in the voice of his mother to make himself realise that she was around him. “When I received a letter from her on set, I sat & read it in her voice–it felt like she was right next to me & that letter was a piece of her,” he said.
A mother-son relationship is always beyond what words can ever explain. Sid’s relationship with his mother is also the same. Happy Women’s Day to all the mothers out there!
