To celebrate the same, recently the entire team came on The Great Indian Kapil Show, except for one player. Yes, the player was none other Smriti Mandhana who will be not be part of the upcoming episode The Great Indian Kapil Show, sparking curiosity among fans, especially given the heightened attention on her personal life in recent weeks.

About Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal’s Split

Recently Smriti Mandhana was all over the news for her split with composer Palash Muchhal. What was supposed to be one of the happiest moments for Indian cricket star Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palash Muchhal, their much-awaited wedding, suddenly took an unexpected turn. Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal’s wedding, originally expected to take place last month, was abruptly postponed after Smriti’s father suffered a sudden health scare during the pre-wedding festivities. Soon after that, reports of Palash Muchhal’s hospitalisation because of some health issue also started doing the rounds. Later, it was believed that there was much more to the story, and claims of Palash being unfaithful to Smriti, which led to “indefinite postponement” of the wedding, started resurfacing.

Kapil Sharma Hosts Women’s Cricket Team

In the recent promo of The Great Indian Kapil Show, he will be seen welcoming the Indian women’s cricket team on his show, including Harmanpreet Kaur, Richa Ghosh, Jemimah Rodrigues, Shafali Verma, Deepti Sharma, Renuka Singh, Harleen Deol, Radha Yadav, and Pratika Rawal.

A recent promo of the episode confirmed Smriti Mandhana’s absence, even as the rest of the squad gathered to relive their celebratory moments.

Jemimah Reveals Smriti’s Bhangra Moment

During the episode, Kapil is seen asking Indian women’s cricket captain Harmanpreet Kaur about the bhangra moves she showed while lifting the trophy. Joining the conversation, Jemimah Rodrigues revealed that it was Smriti Mandhana who encouraged her to break into dance.

Recalling the moment, Jemimah said, “Harry didi hum logon ki baat nahi sunti hai. Par Smriti ne bola tha ki agar bhangra nahi kiya toh main baat nahi karungi life bhar (Harry didi dont listen to us. But Smriti had said that if I didn’t do the Bhangra, she wouldn’t talk to me for life).”

While Smriti Mandhana remains absent from the celebrations, the episode promises plenty of fun, candid moments, and laughter. The special World Cup celebration episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show will go live on December 27.
