Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety Is Second Highest Grosser Of 2018 After Padmaavat; Makers Reunite For Film Starring Ajay Devgn, Tabu

Sonu Ke Titu ki Sweety released on February 23 and the film has become the second highest grosser of 2018. Directed by Luv Ranjan and starring Kartik Aaryan, Nushrat Bharucha and Sunny Singh, the film earned Rs 82.10 crore in the domestic market, beating Akshay Kumar’s Padman that earned Rs 81.10 and becoming second to Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat which earned Rs 291.57 crore. Motivated by the resounding success of the film, the makers of Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety – T-Series and Luv Films – have announced a new film alliance.

T-Series’ Bhushan Kumar and Luv Films’ Luv Ranjan have pledged to make their association stronger by collaborating on multiple films in the days to come. First on their to-do list is the film top-lined by Ajay Devgn and Tabu, directed by film editor Akiv Ali. The story promises to be a fresh take on urban relationships. Devgn will be seen essaying an edgy character that is sure to connect with today’s youth.

Producer Bhushan Kumar said, “Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety’s win at the box office is testimony to what happens when two teams collaborate on a project, fuelled by passion and the desire to create good content. We are hopeful that guided by Luv Ranjan’s creative streak and meticulous craftsmanship we will continue to give the audience many more clutter-breaking films in the future.”
