Singer Sonu Nigam has decided to extend his stay in Dubai amid the coronavirus scare worldwide. The singer was with his family in Dubai for the past few days. However, he was scheduled to come back this week. In his latest interview with Mid-Day, Sonu revealed that he couldn’t risk his life by travelling and therefore, decided to stay in Dubai for some more time until there’s normalcy in the state. The popular playback singer said he was told that his Mumbai concert had got cancelled and that’s when he decided to spend some more time with the family living in Dubai. However, as India recorded a rise in the number of people infected from the coronavirus, he thought it was best to avoid travel and put extra pressure on the authorities. Sonu said he didn’t want to ‘stuck in quarantine’ and extending his stay seemed the best way to stay safe. Sonu was quoted saying, “When my Mumbai concert got postponed, I decided to join my family in Dubai till March 17. However, now, I will have to wait until things are normal (to return). The singer added that he knows he would be a potential career of the virus if he travels back to India because of his exposure in Dubai and he won’t do anything to risk anyone’s life in the country. Sonu said if he decides to travel, he will only be risking himself and others to the infection considering it’s impossible to avoid exposure in the aircraft.

The National Award-winning singer will be organising a live music concert at home for his audience worldwide on Sunday. It will be featured on all his social media handles.
