Sridevi To Team Up With Gauri Shinde For The Sequel Of English Vinglish?

No one can get over Sridevi’s come back film, English Vinglish, directed by Gauri Shinde. The actress left everyone impressed with the slice of life film, which happened to also be the ace filmmaker’s first directorial venture. The movie was appreciated by critics and audiences alike and it not only garnered a lot of praises but also turned out to be a huge Box Office Success.  Now five years since then, the latest rumours doing the rounds is that Sridevi has given her consent to star in the sequel of the slice of life drama and we cannot keep calm. That Sridevi and Gauri became great friends during the shoot of English Vinglish was a known fact and we always knew that the day wouldn’t be far when we would see the duo working on another project together.

According to a report by Midday, a source was quoted as saying, “Sridevi indicated that a collaboration is in the offing when the film completed five years last month. She shared a picture of Gauri and her, and wrote, ‘Coming Soon’. They were supposed to come together for a woman-centric light-hearted comedy earlier, but the story was not fully developed. So they shifted their focus to the sequel.” The source further revealed that Sridevi hasn’t signed any film after Mom, which released in August this year, as she wanted to give time for Gauri’s film. ““She takes her time mulling over scripts and selecting them, which is why her second innings has seen only two films, but both of them critically acclaimed ones at that. She might do a cameo in Janhvi’s debut, but her next project will be with Gauri. The film will kick off sometime early next year,” the source added.

Even Gauri thinks very highly of Sridevi and has gone on record to say that it was because of her that she gained confidence in herself to go ahead with her second film, Dear Zindagi, which too went onto become a huge hit. “You will always be my first love. @SrideviBKapoor I learnt so much from. You made me believe in myself and you are the reason I made my second. Thank you,” Shinde had tweeted at the time of Dear Zindagi’s release. Infact, as per reports, Gauri had been toying with the idea of working with Sridevi on another project for the longest time. We’re excited to hear the news and are waiting in great anticipation for the respective parties to give an official confirmation.
