After Sonu Nigam‘s controversial tweet on Azaan, actor and singer Suchitra Krishnamoorthi‘s (who has acted with Shah Rukh Khan in ‘Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa’) tweets have been the talk of the town. Suchitra took to Twitter to voice her opinion about ‘Azaan’ being played on loudspeakers was hooliganism, on Monday.

Since she passed a comment on religion, people started getting personal; they went on to call her ‘dumb’, ‘lowlife’ and low IQ’ on the social networking sites. Also, Samajwadi Party MLA Abu Azmi and All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) MLA Waris Pathan criticised the former actor. While Pathan feels that Suchitra has done this for publicity, Abu Azmi on one of the news channels, said, “Women who party late till the night, sing and dance and have their hand around shoulders of other men should not talk about the country’s culture.”

Suchitra Krishnamoorthi has hit back at Abu Azmi sexist comments. While talking to a leading channel, the actress said, “Abu Azmi holding a public office is a national shame.” (ALSO READ: Sonu Nigam Azaan row: “There has been a misunderstanding”, says singer Adnan Sami)

The lady tweeted had, “came home at 4.45 am 2 most aggressive/ear shattering call of azaan. Nothing more lowlife & dumb than such extreme imposed religiousity”. As she was trolled for her tweet, she posted yet another tweet, defending herself, which read, “i wake up at Brahmamuhurt of my own accord & do my prayers & riyaz & yoga. I dont need public loudspeakers to remind me of my God or my duty.”
