Actors Anushka Sharma and Varun Dhawan‘s movie Sui Dhaaga – Made In India seems to have registered a decline in its growth at the box office on the eighth day after its release. Earnings for the movie dropped 45 per cent from Thursday and it collected only Rs 1.75 crore on its second Friday. The film is a commercial success and it was appreciated more in places like Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and the Central belts. In other places like Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Mysore, the earnings slowed down drastically, especially after October 2, which was Gandhi Jayanti and a holiday. It had looked like the movie was going to do brisk business and earn around Rs 90 crore or Rs 100 crore, but now it could just settle around Rs 80 crore. So far Sui Dhaaga has earned around Rs 64.25 crore, and film trade analyst Taran Adarsh feels that it could still do good business on the weekend. Sui Dhaaga, which was directed by Sharat Katariya and produced by Maneesh Sharma under the banner of Yash Raj Films, had released on 2,500 screens across India on September 28, and even though it received mixed reviews from both the critics as well as the audience, it managed to hold its own at the box office.
