Sui Dhaaga First Look: Varun Dhawan Steps Into A Tailor's Shoes And Nails It

Judwaa 2 star Varun Dhawan has a line up of exciting films for the next year with October, and Sui Dhaga being one of them. Pairing for the first time alongside Anushka Sharma in Sui Dhaaga, the film will go on floors in February. The film was even announced in a rather fun and quirky manner in a Twitter exchange between Varun and Anushka. And, as per reports, the Student Of The Year actor’s character in the film will be nothing like what he’s played before. And as per his latest Instagram post, he will be playing the role of a tailor in the film. Varun Dhawan posted a photo of him using the sewing machine, with the hours of work gone behind the stitching reflecting in his disheveled hair and droopy eyes. His caption read: “हाथ-पैर का मेल गुरु, सुई धागे का खेल शुरू! #SuiDhaaga @SuiDhaagaFilm @yrf 2018 Gandhi Jayanti” The film seems an interesting take on the Make In India campaign, that the film was supposedly centered around. Check out his picture here below:

A source told DNA, “Varun plays a labourer, a hired help in the film. His look in the film will be in-sync with his character. The film hopes to raise awareness about indigenous cottage industries here in India and also talks about the dignity of labour.” An insider also revealed how Varun was spellbound by director Sharat Katariya’s passion for the story: “Sharat is so passionate about the subject, his narration impressed Varun enough to say yes to the project.”

The project is surely in good hands as well, since Sharat Katariya, who has earlier directed films of the likes of Dum Laga Ke Haisha (2015). With this role, Varun will be joining the likes of Amitabh Bachchan (Coolie), Shatrughan Sinha (Kaala Patthar), Govinda (Coolie No 1), Akshay Kumar (De Dana Dan), and Shah Rukh Khan (Koyla), all who have essayed the roles of labourers in the past. And this should come as a new challenge to Varun, who’s chiefly essayed casual youth icon roles in the past.
