The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has granted a UA certificate to actor Sunny Deol’s film Ghayal Once Again. It seems the censor chief Pahlaj Nihalani, a director himself who has made films with Sunny Deol, got emotional watching Ghayal Once Again. The movie is the sequel to Deol’s hit film from 1990, Ghayal. The original film was high on action and so the sequel will presumably have more of it. But even with the violence shown in the film, Nihalani has passed the film with a UA or U/A rating instead of ‘A’ which is for Adult. Also, Ghayal Once Again has no cuts from the censors! “There is not a moment we could’ve cut in the film. We didn’t want to cut anything. It’s all very vital to the plot,” Nihalani told Subhash K Jha in an article for FirstPost. “I’ve watched Sunny’s growth as an actor. He has worked with me in Paap Ki Duniya and Aag Ka Gola. There was no action hero to beat him back then. There is no one who can do stunts like him now. Ghayal Once Again proves it,” he adds. Also Read - Sunny Deol Tests Positive For COVID-19, Isolating in Kullu, Says Himachal Pradesh Health Secretary
Nihalani continues to praise Sunny Deol, saying, “It’s definitely Sunny Deol’s comeback film. Sunny plays both the powerful action machine and the hurt, wounded human being, equally well. This is his most mature and sensitive performance to date. As a director, Sunny has done as good a job as Raj Kumar Santoshi had done with the first Ghayal. I am completely bowled over by the film.” (ALSO READ: Pahlaj Nihalani and the Indian censor board – a lot funnier than any Bollywood movie!) Ghayal Once Again will show the protagonist Ajay Mehra (Deol) coming out of jail after 14 years. He will be “disturbed and disoriented” and ready to take on the world of corruption yet again with his ‘Dhai kilo ka haath‘. Taking care of him will be a doctor played by Soha Ali Khan.
Seeing the controversial censor chief heaping praises on Ghayal Once Again, the film had better be that good! Have you booked your tickets yet? (Also Read: Sunny Deol in debt due to Ghayal Once Again?)
