The 65th Filmfare Awards were majorly about Gully Boy. However, a few names who were not associated with the Zoya Akhtar directorial also got felicitated by the jury. Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar were the two faces who received Filmfare trophies for their good work in Saand Ki Aankh that hit the screens as the big Diwali release last year. The Tushar Hiranandani directorial was a biopic on the world’s oldest sharpshooters – Prakashi Tomar and Chandro Tomar. After receiving the Filmfare Critics’ Choice Best Actor Award (Female) for fronting the film, both Taapsee and Bhumi took to Instagram to share their happiness. The two talented actors shared beautiful photos of themselves receiving the award on the stage in Guwahati, Assam. The captions on the posts were equally beautiful. In Taapsee’s post, she recalled how they struggled together to make their characters alive in the film. Calling Saand Ki Aankh the ‘most special film’ of their lives, the actor further wrote how their characters are going to live with them forever. Along with Taapsee and Bhumi, Ayushmann Khurrana also bagged the Filmfare Critics’ Choice Award for Best Actor (Male) for his performance in Anubhav Sinha’s Article 15. The other major awards including Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor (Male), Best Actor (Female), Best Lyricist, Best Album, Best Screenplay among others went to Gully Boy.
