Tamannaah Bhatia, known for her captivating screen-presence and glamorous dance moves, has recently addressed the topic of body image and how she was called ‘fat’ during a surprising fan encounter. In a recent interview, she opened up how people started labelling her with a “bigger body size” when her hit songs Kaavaalaa and Aaj Ki Raat were released. During that time, the actress revealed how she started seeing herself very differently.
In a conversation with Lallantop, the Lust Stories 2 actor said, “When Aaj Ki Raat came out, I was praised for promoting body-positivity, for having a very desirable and likeable body. It was during that phase of Kaavaalaa and Aaj Ki Raat that people thought I was a bigger body size. But according to me, I was very slender.”
She then shared a surprising fan interaction that totally changed her perspective. “A woman came to me at a party and she said that women like her feel recognised because I was also so curvy, and she was also curvy, so they felt good after watching me in Aaj Ki Raat,” Tamannaah recounted. “She used the word ‘fat’. But I didn’t think I was fat until then. It gave me perspective of what people thought about me.”
Tamannaah also spoke about the effect of song, Aaj Ki Raat, among little kids. She shared, “I can’t tell you the number of mothers that have called me up and said, ‘My child will eat food only if he hears Aaj Ki Raat.’ Bacche apne diaper mein aise aise hil rahe hote hai.” Talking about it further, she smilingly said, “Ek aadh saal mein unko kaunse lyrics samajh mein aayenge? The mother’s concern is to feed her child. That is her priority, so be it.”
Tamannaah Bhatia is currently gearing up for her next film, Vvan: Force Of The Forest, alongside Siddharth Malhotra. The film is slated for a theatrical release in May 2026. According to reports, she is also set to feature in Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt’s untitled project, and web series called Daring Partners with Diana Penty.
