Simran, Nawazuddin Siddiqui Joins Rajinikanth For Karthik Subbaraj’s Next
Simran and Nawazuddin Siddiqui joins the cast of Karthik Subbaraj's next film with superstar Rajinikanth
Simran and Bollywood star Nawazuddin Siddiqui have joined the cast of Karthik Subbaraj‘s untitled project with Rajinikanth. Sun Pictures on Wednesday tweeted that Simran and Nawazuddin have agreed to be a part of the film. “We are happy to announce that for the first time, @SimranbaggaOffc and @Nawazuddin_S will be acting with Superstar Rajini in #SuperstarWithSunPictures,” read the tweet. This project will be Nawazuddin’s Tamil debut and Simran’s first collaboration with Rajinikanth.
There were reports that Simran reached Dehradun on July 17 and has already started with the shooting of the second schedule of the film. The film’s cast and crew had completed the first schedule in Darjeeling and Dehradun in 35 days. It has also been reported that Rajinikanth will be playing a hostel warden in the film. Actor Vijay Sethupathi who signed up for the film in April will be playing the antagonist. The film will also star Bobby Simhaa, Sananth Reddy and Megha Akash. Megha is said to be paired opposite Sananth. Simran recently made her comeback to the cinema but could not manage to get substantial roles. Hopefully, Karthik’s film gets her more such projects.

Rajinikanth whose recent release Kaala was a great hit is now awaiting the release of Shankar’s 2.0, starring Amy Jackson and Akshay Kumar in pivotal roles. Kaala marks the 164th film of Rajinikanth’s elaborate career in which the actor essays the role of a slumlord-turned-gangster. Besides Rajinikanth, the film also stars actors Huma Qureshi, Nana Patekar, Anjali Patil and Samuthirakani in pivotal roles. Karthik’s last release was Mercury and the director is now looking forward to working with superstar Rajinikanth. Bankrolled by Sun Pictures, Anirudh Ravichander is in charge of the music.
