Los Angeles, Dec 4: Pop star Taylor Swift has handed out USD 50,000 to the Seattle Symphony.The 25-year-old “Blank Space” singer reached out to the symphony’s music director Ludovic Morlot by writing a letter praising their track “Become Ocean”, an environmental piece which earned them a Grammy Award and a Pulitzer Prize, reported New York Times.
“I was thrilled to hear that Taylor was moved by Become Ocean, like all of us at the Seattle Symphony,” Morlot said.”This is a powerful piece with a unique soundscape. Swift’s donation will go towards two Seattle Symphony programs – the musicians’ pension fund and Link Up, a music education initiative for elementary students.The philanthropic pop star recently treated her 1989 tour crew to a vacation in Australia, where 125 staff visited Hamilton Island on the Great Barrier Reef for a break.
