Thappad Box Office Day 1: Director Anubhav Sinha‘s latest film – Thappad seems to have received public’s approval at the Box Office. The film’s opening day collection was mild but the growth was seen towards the evening shows which is a healthy trend considering this growth will ensure an increase in the collection on Saturday and Sunday. Starring Taapsee Pannu, the film talks about domestic violence and how even ‘one slap’ should not be endured.

Thappad collected Rs 3 crore on its first day at the ticket window. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh revealed that the collection in Delhi-NCR and other metros was better than the rest of the country. Thappad has received good reviews and a terrific word of mouth on social media. The story has emerged out as something that was important to be told and Taapsee’s performance as housewife Amrita who decides to walk out of the marriage after her husband slaps her at a party, has impressed all. With Sinha’s newfound goodwill that he earned by making films like Mulk and Article 15 in the recent past, Thappad got an extra edge over other films currently running on the screens.
