Tamil star Dhanush has quite a fan following in India and we bet he is all set to win over the hearts of audiences all over the world with his Hollywood debut – The Extraordinary Journey of The Fakir. Fans have been waiting for the release of this film for a long time now, and as if to tease us, the makers have shared a new poster of the film, featuring the Tamil superstar himself. In the poster, we can see Dhanush peeking out of a trunk, with a goofy expression on his face, and a colourful turban on his head. One look at the still and you know this journey is going to be anything but ordinary. With the number of stamps on the wooden trunk, from which he is peeking out, one can safely say that it is going to be one globetrotting adventure to remember! Based on the novel titled, The Extraordinary Journey of The Fakir who got trapped in an IKEA cupboard, written by Romain Puertolas, the film is reportedly expected to have a mixed ensemble of casts–an Indo-Belgian-Italian crew. The film stars Berenice, Barkhad Abdi, Abel Jafri and Erin Moriarty in pivotal roles. The narrative of the film is based on the life of an ordinary Fakir who sets off on a journey to look for his father, following his mother’s death. This journey transforms into an extraordinary adventure, which takes him to Brussels, Rome, Paris and India. Initially, the film was supposed to be directed by acclaimed French filmmaker Marjane Satrapi but later it went to Ken Scott, the reason of which is unknown. During an interaction with the Variety magazine, Ken Scott said, “What’s great is I get to work with a great actor, Dhanush, who is a huge star in India, he’s a great actor, but also a great dancer, a great singer, he has a unique way of dancing and moving, he’s just very charming. ” The film is expected to release on May 30. Meanwhile, Dhanush has already started shooting for Maari 2, opposite Sai Pallavi. Buzz is that Nagarjuna has also agreed to join the cast of the film.
