We’re talking about the film “Meri Biwi Ka Jawab Nahin.” In the 2004 film, Sridevi romanced Akshay Kumar, who was four years younger than her. Akshay Kumar himself once spoke about this film, revealing that he was a huge fan of Sridevi. He acted in the film only once in his career and never got the chance to work with her again.
“Meri Biwi Ka Jawab Nahin” was directed by Pankaj Parashar. It was a remake of the 1992 Telugu film “Mondi Mogudu Penki Pellam.” In addition to Sridevi and Akshay Kumar, the film also featured stars like Anupam Kher, Gulshan Grover, Johnny Lever, Kiran Kumar, Neena Gupta, and Jagdish Raj.
“Meri Biwi Ka Jawab Nahin” was a box office failure. One major reason for this was the film’s ten-year delay. Another reason was that the makers released the film without a climax.
Akshay Kumar himself spoke about this on Koffee with Karan 2016. He said that “Meri Biwi Ka Jawab Nahin” was released without a climax. There was a revenge scene at the end, but it wasn’t shot, and the screen read, “The two took revenge together…” Ultimately, the scene was re-shot with a body double, and the film ends that way.
This film was the only one in which both Akshay Kumar and Sridevi acted. Akshay Kumar played a police officer, while Sridevi played the innocent Durga. Sridevi was on a break when the film was released.
According to IMDb, it’s also said that Sridevi fell face down during the shooting of “Meri Biwi Ka Jawab Nahin.” She was also injured. This caused a delay in the film.
There’s a scene in “Meri Biwi Ka Jawab Nahin” where Akshay Kumar appears in court. He stumbled several times during this scene, requiring 36 retakes. At one point, he became so upset that he refused to do the scene, but then somehow managed to complete it.
