This 1992 film is still waiting to be released, Aamir Khan, Raveena Tandon were in lead roles, film’s release was put on hold because…
In 1992,Shekhar Kapur embarked on a science fiction project that was set to feature Aamir Khan and Raveena Tandon. However, despite the film being 80% complete, the project was shelved.
Aamir Khan is undeniably one of the cinema’s finest actors, known for his immense versatility and ability to portray a wide range of characters. From his debut in Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak to his memorable characters in Dangal and Laal Singh Chaddha, the actor has mastered each role he has taken on. His impeccable acting and dedication to his craft have made him a household name in the cinema. Among his iconic films, one that stands out is the comedy Andaz Apna Apna, where he starred alongside Raveena Tandon. While the two actors never reunited for another film after that, there was one project where they were supposed to share the screen again. Unfortunately, this film remains unfinished.
The Unfinished Science Fiction Film
In 1992, acclaimed filmmaker Shekhar Kapur embarked on a science fiction project that was set to feature an ensemble cast, including Aamir Khan, Raveena Tandon, Rekha, Naseeruddin Shah, and Gulshan Grover. The film, Time Machine, was ambitious, and its storyline centered around Aamir Khan’s character, who travels back in time from the 1990s to the 1960s to meet his parents before they ever met. The film was said to be based on the Hollywood hit time-travel film Back To The Future and H. G. Wells’s The Time Machine.
However, despite the film being 80% complete, the project was reportedly unfortunately shelved due to financial constraints.
In 2008, Shekhar Kapur announced that he would attempt to revive the film and re-cast it with new actors. However, the revival never materialized, and the film remained unfinished. Reportedly, Shekhar Kapur had envisioned this project as a grand time-travel film like Mr. India.
Remake Of Back To The Future
In 2010, Action Replayy was released, a film often regarded as a remake of the Hollywood classic Back To The Future. The movie featured Akshay Kumar, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and Aditya Roy Kapur in key roles. The project reunited director Vipul Amrutlal Shah with Akshay Kumar after their successful collaborations in Waqt: The Race Against Time (2005) and Namastey London (2007). However, despite the high expectations, Action Replayy failed to replicate the success of their former hits.
