Here we are talking about 2012 Hindi erotic thriller Hate Story, directed by Vivek Agnihotri and penned by Vikram Bhatt. The film features Paoli Dam as Kavya Krishna, a tenacious journalist, alongside Nikhil Dwivedi and Gulshan Devaiah. Kavya, with her colleague Vicky (Nikhil Dwivedi), conducts a sting operation against the influential industrialist Siddharth Dhanrajgir (Gulshan Devaiah), exposing his unethical practices. In retaliation, Siddharth manipulates Kavya into a romantic relationship, only to betray her trust, leading to her professional and personal downfall.
Devastated by the betrayal and further traumatized by a forced abortion orchestrated by Siddharth, Kavya resolves to dismantle his empire. She adopts the identity of a high-end escort, strategically engaging with Siddharth’s associates to gather incriminating information. Her calculated actions culminate in the exposure of Siddharth’s malpractices, leading to his company’s ruin.
The performances in Hate Story received mixed but largely appreciative response. Paoli Dam, in her bold Bollywood debut as Kavya Krishna, was praised for her fearless portrayal of a woman driven by revenge.
