Are you some one who likes to feel the gut wrench inside watching a psychological thriller? Do you wish to experience that momentary adrenaline during the climax? Then, this is a film that one may add to their watch list. It is a 2 hour and 32 minutes long south Indian film that will send chills down the spine as you progress through, scene by scene.
It is a Tamil film that was released in 2023 and features one of the biggest female stars in the industry. The psychological thriller in focus is titled ‘Iraivan’. The title loosely translates to, ‘God’. This intense crime story features Nayanthara, Ravi Mohan and Rahul Bose in the lead roles. The film is Directed by I. Ahmed, it also features Vijayalakshmi Ahathian, Charlie, Vinoth Kishan, Ashwin Kumar, Udhayabanu Maheshwaran, Manoj Mullath, George Vijay Nelson, Azhagam Perumal, Bagavathi Perumal and Ashish Vidyarthi.
Iriavan’s plot revolves around a serial killer who goes on a spree killing young girls raking fear across the city. Chaos ensues as the killer is on the run. The storyline descends into dark, mystery, with lead actors’s love story on stake.
Dim lights, mysterious background score and excellent performances make the story more engaging and hooking. The gory details add on the plot’s suspense. According to a report by IMDb, Rahul Bose dubbed his character in his own voice for the film.
Despite the edgy characters, or spine chilling climax, there is a plenty of such content available to watch. In an interview with Times of India, the director explained his purview stating, “In ‘Iraivan’, I have given the experience of what happens in the head of a psycho and how it would be to travel with him for an hour. Audiences who are used to watching template films will not find this in my film.”
