But my father did not believe in the terms of the contract.
Rukhsar’s father refused to accept this contract. After this, Rukhsar rejected the first and last blockbuster of her career. Later, when her career flopped, after marriage and divorce, she had to work as a tailor. Even today, the actress regrets that she did not do this film. After Rukhsar’s rejection, actress Navodita Sharma was cast in the film ‘Sanam Bewafa’ through an advertisement. Saawan Kumar liked her photo and gave her the lead role in the film. After this film became a hit, Navodita Sharma left her real name and kept the screen name Chandni.
Chandni also got a new identity from this blockbuster film of Salman Khan. Her debut film proved lucky for her. After this film, she became a star overnight. After this film, she became a big part of the industry. The budget of Sanam Bewafa was very low. In those days, ‘Sanam Bewafa’ was made in just Rs 25 lakh. But it became a huge success by earning 12 crores, which was 48 times more than its actual budget. The film is currently available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video, which stars Late Pran, Danny Denzongpa, Puneet Issar, Kanchan, Pankaj Dheer and Dina Pathak in pivotal roles.
