There are several actors who get the opportunity to work alongside the biggest celebrities in the industry. However, some of them struggle to make a home in the audience’s hearts. One such actor, despite coming from a renowned family, has not been able to carve out a lasting presence in the hearts of moviegoers. We are talking about Neil Nitin Mukesh, an actor who, despite a career spanning over a decade, has yet to become a household name.
Neil Nitin Mukesh’s Acting Career
Neil Nitin Mukesh, the son of renowned playback singer Nitin Mukesh and grandson of legendary singer Mukesh, made his debut as a child artist in the 1988 film Vijay. However, it wasn’t until 2007 that he made his adult film debut in Johnny Gaddaar, which was not well-received by the audience and critics. Over the years, he has shared the screen with some of the biggest names in the industry. He acted alongside Salman Khan in Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, Katrina Kaif in New York, Prabhas in Saaho, and Ajay Devgn in Golmaal Again. Despite these big-budget films and star-studded casts, Neil Nitin Mukesh failed to make a lasting impact on the audience.
Neil Nitin Mukesh Left Acting
In his 13-year career, only three of his films – New York, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo and Golmaal Again – were considered hits. The rest of his filmography has largely been overlooked. His last appearance in a major film was in 2019 in Saaho, where he shared screen space with Prabhas, Shraddha Kapoor, and Jackie Shroff. After the film, Neil Nitin Mukesh took a step back from acting and started his own production company in 2018. The move seems to have been financially rewarding, as he reportedly earns a substantial amount from his production business and brand endorsements.
In 2017, Neil Nitin Mukesh married Rukmini Sahay in a traditional wedding and the two welcomed their first child, Nurvi Neil Mukesh, in 2018. Neil Nitin Mukesh will next be seen in Hisaab Barabar in 2025, alongside R. Madhavan and Kirti Kulhari. Directed by Ashwni Dhir, Hisaab Barabar will premiere on ZEE5 on January 24, 2025.
