Varun Dhawan, the son of renowned filmmaker David Dhawan, is one of the cinema’s most versatile and successful actors. He graduated with a degree in Business Studies from Nottingham Trent University in the UK, but his passion for cinema led him to the film industry. Before making his acting debut in Karan Johar’s Student Of the Year, the actor worked as an assistant director on Karan Johar’s My Name Is Khan, which starred Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol in the lead roles. Later, he delivered several hits, including Badlapur, Sui Dhaaga, October, Jugjugg Jeeyo and Bhediya, showcasing his range in different genres.
Varun Dhawan also gave 11 consecutive hit films in the first 6 years of his career. In fact, he was expected to break Rajesh Khanna’s record of 17 consecutive hit films. However, after the film Kalank, his career took the back seat.
He was last seen in the spy series Citadel: Honey Bunny, alongside Samantha Ruth Prabhu. The actor will next star in the action film Baby John, produced by Atlee, a remake of the Tamil film Theri. He is also set to take on several exciting projects, including Border 2, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, No Entry 2 and Bhediya 2.
Varun Dhawan was born in 1987 to David Dhawan and Karuna Dhawan. His elder brother, Rohit Dhawan, is also a film director and is known for his debut with Desi Boyz. The actor, along with wife Natasha Dalal, welcomed his first child, a daughter named Lara, on June 3, 2024. Reportedly, he is one of the highest-paid actors in Bollywood in 2024, adding to his growing net worth.
