When she was at the peak of her career a magistrate once issued a summons just to meet her in person. This fascinating story was shared by renowned lawyer Majid Memon.

The actress in question had a magnetic charm that captivated everyone who saw her. On-screen she was known for her bold and free-spirited persona while off-screen, she was quiet and introverted. She worked in films for five decades and during her prime, a magistrate eager to meet her summoned her to court.

In an interview, Majid Memon who has handled numerous high-profile celebrity cases shared this intriguing anecdote. Memon revealed that the magistrate wanted to see the actress in person which led to her being summoned to court.

When the actress arrived a large crowd had gathered eager to catch a glimpse of her. Memon recounted the incident in his autobiography My Memoirs, where he talks about many such incidents involving film stars.

He explained, “I was representing Sridevi in a case. At the time, she was at the peak of her career and people were eager to see her. Even the magistrate was curious to meet her. I had applied for a waiver, but it was denied. The judge insisted on her presence and when she arrived, the crowd went wild.”

Memon, a senior lawyer with close ties to Bollywood has had a longstanding relationship with the film industry. He is friends with filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and has been in contact with several famous personalities since his college days.

He further revealed, “I often met legends like Dilip Kumar and Sunil Dutt at Naushad Saab’s house, where we would gather regularly. Even after becoming a lawyer my connection with Bollywood remained strong.”

In another notable case, Memon was involved in the Bharat Shah case where Bollywood actors Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan were falsely implicated. He clarified that the charges against the two actors were fabricated to make the case more sensational.
