The glamorous world of Bollywood and Tollywood boasts numerous actresses, but few are capable of embodying historical figures with their beauty. Aditi Rao Hydari is one of them. Aditi has not only wowed the audience with her acting skills, but has also brought to life numerous historical figures, carving a special place in the hearts of audiences. Whether it’s playing Queen Mehrunnisa in Padmaavat or Anarkali in Taj: Divided by Blood, Aditi has always brought a regal and delicate touch to her roles.
Aditi Rao Hydari was born on October 28, 1986, in Hyderabad. She belongs to a royal family. She is the great-granddaughter of Akbar Hydari and the granddaughter of former Assam Governor Mohammed Saleh Akbar Hydari. Furthermore, her maternal grandfather, J. Rameshwar Rao, ruled Wanaparthy in Telangana. Aditi’s mother, Vidya Rao, is Hindu, and her father, Ehsan Hydari, is Muslim. This is why she uses both her mother’s and father’s names in her surname.
Aditi made her film debut with the Malayalam film Prajapati. She then entered Bollywood in 2006 with the Hindi film Delhi-6. While she had a cameo role in the film, she captured the audience’s attention with her acting and innocence. Following this, Aditi steadily established herself in films, playing several significant roles.
In 2011, films like Yeh Saali Zindagi and Rockstar established Aditi’s place in Bollywood. Her performance in Rockstar was highly praised, and she displayed a wonderful chemistry with Ranbir Kapoor. She subsequently starred in films like Fitoor and Murder 3, but audiences and critics alike remember her particularly for her portrayal of Queen Mehrunnisa in Padmaavat.
In Padmaavat, Aditi not only exuded royal grace, but also masterfully captured the fragility and strength of that era through her facial expressions and dialogue delivery. This role established her as a unique figure in portraying historical characters. Following this, Aditi began receiving numerous offers for historical films and web series. Aditi played the role of Anarkali in the 2023 film Taj: Divided by Blood, where she captivated audiences with her acting and regal style.
In her personal life, Aditi married for the first time at the age of 21, but the relationship didn’t last long. She later married actor Siddharth and is now happily married.
