This ‘cursed’ bungalow saw three actors become superstars, then all of them lost their stardom and money here and their life…
Today, we will be talking about three massive stars who bought the same house, one after the other, and their careers soared with hit films. However, that luck was short-lived.
There are numerous celebrities who believe that their homes bring them good fortune and luck, with some even living in the same house from the start of their careers, including Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan. However, for some actors, their homes have had a more difficult bond with their homes, offering both rise and fall together. Today, we will be talking about three massive stars who bought the same house, one after the other, and their careers soared with hit films. However, that luck was short-lived.
The Celebrities Who Bought This ‘Cursed’ Bungalow
Bharat Bhushan, a renowned actor of his time, enjoyed massive success after moving into this bungalow in 1950. His career soared high and he starred in hit films like Baiju Bawra and Mirza Ghalib after buying his house. But soon after, his career took the backseat, with his films flopping and he eventually fell into financial ruin. The once-glamorous bungalow, which was initially seen as a house where success flourished, soon began to be considered a cursed one.
In 1960, Bharat Bhushan sold his bungalow to Rajendra Kumar for Rs 60,000. After moving in, he named the house ‘Dimple‘, after his daughter, Dimple Patel. Later, his career soared with hit films, like Mother India and Dhool Ka Phool. The move seemed to bring him good luck, but that luck was short-lived. Once again, the momentum slowed and this actor too began facing financial setbacks.
In 1969, Rajendra Kumar sold the bungalow to Rajesh Khanna for Rs 3.5 lakh, who later renamed it ‘Aashirwad‘. Rajesh Khanna saw a record-breaking 15 consecutive hits after he moved to this house. The success that came with the house was soon followed by a decline, and the media speculated that the actor’s career took a downturn within the very walls that had once brought him fame.
About The Bungalow
The bungalow is situated on Carter Road, next to the Arabian Sea front. The house was initially owned by an Anglo-Indian family. In 2014, two years after the veteran actor Rajesh Khanna’s demise, this sea-facing bungalow was sold to industrialist Shashi Kiran Shetty, executive chairman of Allcargo Logistics.
