Dharmendra has been in the list of top stars whose films and personal life have attracted people’s attention. Dharmendra, known as the He-Man of Bollywood, has always been a favorite of women due to his attractive style and physique. Dharmendra was first married to Prakash Kaur and his second marriage was with Hema Malini. Meena Kumari’s husband Kamal Amrohi also could not stay away from these news. If reports are to be believed, it is said that many years later Amrohi took his revenge from Dharmendra in a very different way.
That too when he cast Dharmendra opposite Hema Malini in the film ‘Razia Sultan’. In this film, Amrohi gave Hema the lead role of ‘Queen Razia Sultan’ and her husband Dharmendra was cast in the role of her slave, ‘Jamal-ud-din Yakut’.
Now to play this role, Dharmendra was asked to paint his body black from head to toe, as perfectionist producer Amrohi wanted to bring alive Dharmendra’s character of Ghulam Wale. During the later portions of the film’s shoot, Dharmendra had to face the scorching sun of the desert and also shoot bareback. The black paint was flowing on Dharmendra’s face and torso. While people who have seen this film even today consider these things to be a part of perfection, some sources who knew him closely believe that through this film Kamal Amrohi took revenge on Dharmendra for his alleged affair with Meena Kumari.
