The film has a massive budget of Rs 200 crore and will be released in 6 languages. What’s more interesting? One hero will be seen romancing not one or two, but five heroines! Can you guess the film? If not, we’ll tell you! It’s actor Yash’s upcoming movie Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups.

Now, the suspense around the fifth heroine has finally been cleared. It’s been confirmed that actress Rukmini Vasanth was part of the project from the beginning. In fact, the makers had intentionally kept her involvement under wraps. According to sources, Rukmini has already filmed several scenes with Yash during the Mumbai schedule, and now only a few days of her shoot remain.
Rukmini Vasanth is 28 years old, who predominantly works in Kannada, Tamil and Telugu films. She made her debut in 2019’s Birbal. It was 2023’s romantic drama Sapta Saagaradaache Ello which gave her fame and she also won a Filmfare award for her work. In 2024, Rukmini appeared in two successful Kannada films: Bagheera opposite Sriimurali, and Bhairathi Ranagal opposite Shiva Rajkumar.
Rukmini is the daughter of Colonel Vasanth Venugopal, who was Karnataka’s first recipient of India’s highest peacetime military decoration, the Ashoka Chakra. He was killed in action in 2007 while preventing heavily armed infiltrators from crossing the India-Pakistan border at Uri, Jammu and Kashmir.
Coming back to her work in Toxic with Yash, sources revealed that the story has always revolved around strong female characters, and Rukmini Vasanth’s role is no exception. Her character brings a powerful impact to the narrative. The team wanted to keep her involvement a surprise until the right moment, which is why her name was kept under wraps until now.
Rukmini Vasanth has now joined the stellar line-up of heroines in Toxic, which already includes stars like Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Tara Sutaria, Akshay Oberoi, and Tovino Thomas and Huma Qureshi. Each of them is set to add depth to the film’s narrative.
Directed by Geetu Mohandas, the film is currently being shot in Mumbai and is slated for a worldwide release on March 19, 2026. Toxic also marks a major milestone, as it is the first major film to be shot simultaneously in both Kannada and English, and will later be dubbed and released in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam.
She will also be seen in Rishab Shetty’s Kantara Chapter 1. The movie will release on October 2, 2025.
