Kamal Haasan, a superstar of the South Indian film industry, has made a lasting impact over six decades. His daughter, Shruti Haasan, also entered the film world, but she didn’t achieve the same level of success in Bollywood. Shruti made her debut with the 2009 film Luck, but the movie failed at the box office, and her Bollywood career struggled to take off.

Shruti pursued a degree in Psychology and received music training in the U.S. Though she showed an interest in acting from a young age, she made her debut as a child artist in Hey Ram (2000).

In 2009, Shruti made her Bollywood debut with Luck. Despite a strong star cast, including Mithun Chakraborty and Sanjay Dutt, the film failed to impress at the box office, and Shruti’s presence in the Hindi film industry wasn’t solidified. Luck only earned around 30 crore rupees, which affected Shruti’s career in Bollywood.

A few years later, Shruti worked in a romantic film with a fresh cast, but that too failed to attract audiences and performed poorly at the box office. Despite her efforts to continuously improve her craft and capture attention, her films didn’t achieve the success many expected.

On the other hand, Kamal Haasan, despite having fewer Bollywood films, achieved success in the industry and even received awards for his work in Hindi cinema—something Shruti was unable to attain in her Bollywood journey. Despite her hard work, Shruti was not able to achieve the same level of success in Hindi films as her father.
