Bollywood movies have consistently catered to audience preferences with a variety of genres. However, in 2005, a film hit the big screen that caused quite a stir among fans. While the movie garnered attention, it was one particular song that raised eyebrows. Even after more than a decade, this song remains a popular topic of discussion. The film in question is Aashiq Banaya Aapne, featuring the pairing of Emraan Hashmi and Tanushree Dutta.

While the movie received widespread love, it was the title track that created an unprecedented buzz. The stir was primarily due to the bold intimacy portrayed between Emraan and Tanushree. At the time, many viewers would sneak away to watch the video in private, and students in schools and colleges would visit internet cafes just to catch a glimpse of it.

Directed by Aditya Dutt, Aashiq Banaya Aapne became widely known for its hit songs. Even 19 years after its release, the title track continues to be loved by audiences. It turned into a love anthem for youth expressing their emotions and remains one of Bollywood’s most cherished songs. The music video has surpassed 548 million views on YouTube.

With its amazing soundtrack and intriguing storyline, Aashiq Banaya Aapne created a massive craze among fans at the time of its release. The film had a reported budget of Rs 5 crore and grossed Rs 17 crore at the box office.

The chemistry and kissing scenes between Emraan Hashmi and Tanushree Dutta set a bold precedent in Bollywood. Tanushree collaborated with Emraan on three films: Aashiq Banaya Aapne (2005), Chocolate (2005), and Good Boy Bad Boy (2007). In an interview, Tanushree shared her thoughts about the intimate scenes in Aashiq Banaya Aapne, describing them as “awkward” and likening her on-screen chemistry with Emraan to that of a “brother and sister.”
