There are several actors in our film industry who started working early and received unimaginable stardom with their hard work and dedication. The actress we are discussing in this article marked her debut when she was just seventeen. Even though her first movie was a box-office disaster, she did over 60 movies in her career of four decades.
The actor was on a break at home during her 12th-grade holidays when she received an unexpected offer for her debut movie. It was through a family connection, a friend of her elder sister who worked with Rajshri Productions, that she got her first film role. Despite her family’s reluctance, she decided to do acting, which eventually led her to make her mark in the cinema. The actress is none other than Madhuri Dixit Nene.
However, her debut film, Abodh, released in 1994, was a commercial failure. After this setback, Madhuri Dixit briefly shifted her focus to her studies and considered leaving the film industry. Nevertheless, she continued to work in the industry, and after a few more projects, she built her career. However, her breakthrough came with Tezaab, where she became an instant sensation, making her an overnight star.
Madhuri Dixit, over time, became a beloved actress in the cinema, working with every major actor in the industry, including Shah Rukh Khan in Devdas, Salman Khan in Hum Aapke Hain Koun and Aamir Khan in Dil. However, her pairing with Sanjay Dutt, in particular, was a massive success. Their collaboration in movies like Khalnayak, Saajan, Saahiban and Khatron Ke Khiladi was a major hit and set box-office records.
When she was at the highest peak of her career, she decided to quit movies and get married to her husband, Dr. Shriram Nene, leaving everyone shocked. In an interview, she talked about her conscious choice and said that she has no regrets to date. After tying the knot, Madhuri Dixit moved to Colorado, The United States, for over a decade living a quieter life, away from the limelight. The actress, along with her husband and two sons, Arin and Ryan, returned to India in 2011.
