Shilpa Shetty is trending today. One look at the hashtag #ShilpaShettyReviews and you’d be in splits. Trollers are working overtime to come up with the funniest one-liners possible.
Now, to give you a background, with the reports of books like Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings being introduced as school curriculum, a leading daily decided to ask some Bollywood stars on what they think about the move. Shilpa Shetty was one of the celebs they chose to get comments from. In her own words, while talking about the books that should be introduced to help children learn more about a particular subject in a fun way, Shilpa Shetty said that, “Animal Farm can teach the little ones to love and care for animals.”
For the uninitiated, Animal Farm has nothing to do with animals or their wellbeing. Wikipedia describes the book as, “an allegorical and dystopian novella by George Orwell, first published in England on 17 August 1945. According to Orwell, the book reflects events leading up to the Russian Revolution of 1917 and then on into the Stalinist era of the Soviet Union.”
Twitterverse was quick to pick this big blunder and then highlight it through a tsunami of tweets thus leading to Shilpa Shetty Reviews to become a trend. This is a big and important lesson for our stars to come prepared for their interviews. It is clear that their fans are more aware then them and pretence will be not be taken lightly. Here’s our pick of top 10 funniest tweets under the Shilpa Shetty trend. So much fun for a Monday, we say!
