Earlier, a report in Bombay Times quoted a source saying that Priya and Kawaljeet started living separately after six months of marriage and the differences only turned bigger. Now, while talking to Spotboye, Priya said that after media started speculating about her relationship, she finally decided to discuss what actually happened. She said that after losing faith in love marriage, she decided to go for an arranged marriage second time but it was unfortunate that even that couldn’t last. She was quoted by the portal saying, “Like any girl, I wanted to have a fairytale wedding, otherwise, why would I agree to marry again? I had hoped this was for good, which is why I even agreed to put my career on pause and spend time in Raipur.” Also Read - Tinaa Datta-Mohit Malhotra Sexual Harassment Case: Actress Reveals he Used to Take Advantage of Her in Intimate Scene
However, Priya claimed that her husband wanted to use her as his ‘ticket to Mumbai.’ She revealed that after she agreed to live in Raipur with her in-laws, she was asked by her mother-in-law and husband that she should shift to Mumbai. This, though, made her happy initially, things took an even worst turn later. She said, “Surprisingly, my MIL was adamant that we shift to Mumbai, bag and baggage. I made every effort to help my husband in his career, but never did he treat this as a serious relationship. I was, in fact, a ticket to his life in Mumbai.” Also Read - Tinaa Datta Accuses Daayan Co-star Mohit Malhotra of Inappropriately Touching Her, Actor Denies Allegations, Read on
She then alleged that ‘it was the case of domestic violence’. Priya said she believes in forgiving and only after things turned really violent, she stepped out and lodged a complaint at Oshiwara Police Station. She said she wishes best for her ex-husband and wonders why it had to end this way. She added, “I had hoped to forgive Kawal, who married me on false pretexts, that there was vital information about his life that was hidden from me and my family which we later found out.”
Priya alleged that she was ready to give all the chances to her marriage to survive but she was only subjected to ‘physical and emotional trauma’. Priya said that she’s starting afresh and wishes to come out with more flying colour for her fans in the future.
