Karan Patel’s wife Ankita Bhargava suffered a miscarriage a day after the couple attended the award function Gold Awards 2018. The unfortunate incident was confirmed by Ankita’s father. Ankita’s father and Yeh Hai Mohabbatein actor Abhay Bhargava confirmed the sad news to The Times of India, but said he did not wish to comment on it further. Karan and Ankita were expecting their child in November and the couple was excited to welcome their first bundle of joy. Confirming the news of Ankita’s miscarriage, their spokesperson has released an official statement saying Karan and Ankita need time to cope with it.

As per India Today, the statement read as, “It is a tough time for them and coming to terms with it will take a few days. I would urge all media personnel to please allow Karan and Ankita Karan Patel enough time to deal with the miscarriage. It is a difficult time for them individually and for the families involved. This sudden turn of events happened a few days ago and ever since we have tried to keep it low key only so that we allow them enough time to cope with it.”

The statement further said,  “However, given the nature of the lives they live we do understand there will be speculation and concern from many, while we are ever thankful to the love and concern shown, I am sure we all agree that it is a tough time for them and coming to terms with it will take a few days.Please consider this as a formal acceptance of the misfortune that has occurred in their lives and thank you in advance for respecting their privacy.”

For the unversed, Karan had earlier announced his wife’s pregnancy in the most amusing way. Karan took to his Instagram and shared a picture of him holding several shopping bags, all signalling that the baby is on its way. Karan gave the picture a goofy look, with the headline, “Yeh Diwali Hogi Babywali.”
